Austin may be one of the most dog-friendly cities you’ll ever visit. If you’re not used to it, it’ll have you wondering if Austinites can go anywhere without their four-legged friends. The short answer is, no. It honestly feels like our population is half dogs, and just like on Old MacDonald’s farm, you’re likely to hear a bark everywhere you go, especially at these restaurants and breweries.

Kerbey Lane Café
As a popular brunch spot with a gorgeous patio, it’s no wonder that families and friends gather to grab a bite to eat. The patios are pet-friendly and the Kerbey Queso makes it Tex-Mex friendly as well. No matter what time of day, you’ll be able to enjoy breakfast foods and spot a few furry friends dining outside.

Cane Rosso
This restaurant is famous for its Neapolitan pizza, but it’s also famous for having a love for dogs. You may have guessed that if you speak Italian, as Cane Rosso translated into English means red dog. In fact, the owner has his own nonprofit, Cane Rosso Rescue, to help find homes for abandoned or homeless dogs. They host fundraising and adoption events throughout the year and welcome pooches to dine on their patio as well.

Banger’s Sausage House & Beer Garden
With a great location on Rainey Street and over 100 beers on tap, Banger’s is a fan-favorite in Austin. There are a variety of events held each week and there’s an off-leash playpen for pooches to run free.

The Austin Beer Garden Brewing Co.
ABGB is known for its great nightly concerts, delicious pizza, large list of beers to try, and pet-friendly patio. They also take the pet-friendly pledge a step further by donating 5% of profits from various events, specials, and parties to local non-profit partners like Austin Pets Alive!

This is just a short list of places that you’re likely to find pups and pooches hanging out with their owners, so be prepared for the barking and tail-wagging that all Austinites have come to expect when they step outside their doors.
